Thanksgiving . . .

Yesterday passed in a blur and I didn't get this photo posted.
Still, I'd like to let you know that I am thankful for all of you.
I'm humbled that you enjoy my work & follow my blog.
I hope your Thanksgiving day was spent with those you love.

It's coming soon!

I feel like a squirrel, scurrying around, often getting stuck and not knowing
which way to go next! ~ It's like this before a show . . . especially one you, with a friend,
promote and are an exhibitor in!
So much to do, do, do . . .  works to finish, (or begin at the last minute ;-), car to load,
lists to tick off.
BUT a show date advances whether you are ready or not!
If only we could slow time!

Please join me at my last event of the year:
We are a lovely and intimate gathering of fine folk artisans and antique dealers.
Creating and gathering wares just for you.
Saturday, November 11th. ~ 2017
Early Buy Preview ~ 8-10am ($15)
General admission ~ 10-2 ($6)
1775 Main St. ~ Peninsula, OH
More details on our website:

Hope to see you there!

Fall ~ how I love thee . . .

Feeling inspired:
By a hint of coolness in the morning air
~ or a red/yellow leaf turned here or there.
Today from the dye pot ~ and NOW to stitch!

lovely . . .

Hello all,
We are once again honored to have our home included in one of Judy Condon's lovely books.
(Her last actually, making this all the more special.)
We just received our advance copy and are humbled by the sweet article Judy wrote,
and the number of photos she included.
Seeing the very last page of the book, tugged at my heart as it's bitter-sweet.
There is dear Lacy Lu along with the recipe of her very favorite dog biscuits.
(We lost her this past May)
Lacy's sweet intensity and love of biscuits will live on thru Miss Abbey Lane.
She does seem to be wondering when that first batch will emerge from the oven!
Soon little one . . .  soon!

Enjoy . . .  Lori Ann, Michael and Abbey Lane

Hi there . . .

I hope you've all been happily stitching, gardening, collecting or
otherwise doing what makes you smile!
We are just back from a teaching gig in Ripon, WI.
The town and small college campus were lovely and each class was filled with
ladies who were so eager and sweet.
Thank you to Katie of "Holly and Ivy" for hosting this lovely event!
On the trip home we visited family of the Mr's in IL and had a lovely trip down memory lane . . .  along with awesome pizza from Harris Pizza in Moline, Il. ~  Then on to a friends home with lovely gardens, and fit in a final stop at the Sauder Village Rug hooking show and exhibit in Archbold, Ohio
(Simply wonderful rugs and WOOL everywhere!)

Now . . . . . it's time to re-group, catch up and prepare for the:
Bewitching Peddlers show in Chelsea, MI.
(Sept. 30 - See link in sidebar)

For the stitcher's out there:
I have a few kits left from the Wisconsin "show" part of the event and will list those on the
"Mercantile" tomorrow ~ August 18th. about 12 noon EST.
(There are a couple new kits too!)

That's whats up at "The Spotted Hare"
I hope you are all having a lovely end to the summer
and are enjoying the harbinger of fall ~ cooler evening temps!

busy, busy . . . .

Hello friends,

I do apologize for my spotty work and posts.
You might think (erroneously) that life slows down as you age, but we are finding
the days are passing at the speed of light!

We hope we are emerging from the last 2 years of everyones health issues,
(my broken leg, mother's fall, husbands shoulder replacement, sons work accident)
and will all be stronger and healthier moving forward!
This has all taken a toll on my work and overall creativity, but I feel I'm
tip toeing around a corner and good things are to come!

My first event of 2017 was the From Our Hands creative retreat ~
it was such an amazing success in the new location that we can't wait till next year!
(See video below!)
From Our Hands ~ Spring Creative 2017

I'm happy that I was finally able to get the "Store/Mercantile" up and running
with kits and supplies.
A big thank you for your support!  All kits are sold out for the moment.
I'm gathering supplies and will re-stock as soon as possible.

This week we are recovering from 3 weeks of company and awaiting a
new round of kids and grand babes to come Friday.
(I see another recovery in our future ;-)

After this we head to WI, in August.
I'll be teaching at Holly and Ivy along with Rebekah L. Smith
and a couple other great teachers.
(A few class spots remain)
September brings the "Bewitching Peddlers" event in Chelsea, MI
October: Hooked in the Valley ~ Wooster, OH
& November : From Our Hands & Hearts ~ Peninsula, OH
(Please note: the FOH November show is Folk Art & Antiques only ~ no classes)

Hope to see you around!
Happy stitches,
Lori Ann

Today's the day!

 Hello . . .

Thank you for all your notes and cards after the loss of our dear Lacy Lu.
My heart still aches for her soft blue eyes, her wet nose and silken paws.
She will be forever missed.

I HAVE been working even tho I've been quiet and I'm excited to announce something special!
For a long time I've wanted to open an online store to sell kits, simple supplies and "what-have-yous".
Today is the day and it will be launched at 2pm EST!
Come check it out.

I will also have a small update of original finished works on:
Sunday, June 18th @ 8pm EST.
(Original works will still be sold on the "Gallery" page of my blog)
I hope you can join me!

More exciting news!
We have a new addition to the family ~ Please meet:
Miss Abbey Lane!
(Oh how Lacy would have loved her!)
Abbey is a Mini Bernedoodle ~ (Bernese Mountain Dog and Poodle mix)
We hope she is a little gentler on Michael's allergies, but no matter what, he's (we are) smitten!
She is not a replacement for Miss Lacy, but one to remind us to continue on and love another as we did her!
(Oh, in these pics she'd just gotten out of the "Puppy pool" !

Hugs all round!
Lori Ann, The Mister and Abbey Lane too!
